“What’s in a name?
That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.”
-Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare
To this, I reply: Slow your roll, Juliet! The meaning behind a name can be absolutely everything. Haus of Phoenix is exactly that: a house (filled with many wings/rooms) also referred to as a home (our focus being community and creating relationships). The Phoenix honors the mythological bird reborn from the ashes, symbolizing transformation, evolution, and ability to access our inner magic.
Haus of Phoenix isn’t just a “yoga platform” — it’s a multi-faceted community where we express ourselves through movement modalities and yoga, enrich our minds through meditation, stoke our magick through ritual, myth, and story-telling, strengthen our understanding and humanity through book club and guest authors, expand our horizons through guest teachers, and whet our appetite with delicious recipes. All this to say, it’s a place for y’all to call home.
If you’re new to Haus of Phoenix, I thought I’d help you out by listing five of my favorite offerings. It’s a mixed bag of Haus Yoga, Meditation Mondays, Moving Mythology, Hungry Phoenix, and Moon Rituals — but don’t forget we also have an amazing Haus roster including Justin Reilley, Kate Counts, Ashley Limehouse, and Bella Blue, as well as enlightening Professor Phoenix conversations and a wide variety of Phoenix Friend classes in our Replay Library!
Happy exploring!

Pick 1: Haus Yoga ~ Sun + Moon Flow
I LOVE a continuous flow that doesn’t burn me out. This practice weaves sun salutation A into a variation of moon salutations. If you love lateral movement and a practice that dances along your mat, this one’s for you!
Pick 2: Moving Mythology ~ Icarus
Classic Greek mythology at it’s best, I open class with the story of Icarus: the son of the famed master craftsman, Daedalus, and his tragic battle between complacency and hubris. Move through creative sun salutations, “wing-span” openers, flying postures, and poses guaranteed to make you melt.
Pick 3: Hungry Phoenix ~ Pulled Mushroom Fajitas
Vegetarian an vegans rejoice: this is the marinade and recipe that will change your life. Not even being hyperbolic: my wife asks for these fajitas on the regular. Great for entertaining, feeding the family, or treating yourself any night of the week.
Pick 4: Meditation Mondays ~ Golden Egg Meditation
This meditation struck DEEP. We spend a good amount of time accessing our guides through the 3rd eye portal, and this guided meditation truly made me feel held. Perfect to remember you are not alone.
Pick 5: Moon Rituals ~ New Moon Ritual & Practice: Charging an Amulet
Our coven has become one of the most powerful aspects of Haus. This ritual leads you through the steps needed to charge a personal amulet: an object, often jewelry, worn to ward off negativity. I wear mine every time I sit down to work on my novel and it works like a charm (pun intended).
